COSPLAY COMMISION

Blog: 02/07/2020

Traditionally, I am a cosplayer who works on more personal projects that I would be wearing to conventions, photoshoots, and other similar activities. However, sometimes I will partake in commission work for companies that need models or costumes for a specific campaign or promotion. I find commission work to be difficult most of the time. If you work out a deal with a larger company, you’ll have very little time to finish the project, and me as a college student trying to work a part time job, go to all my classes, and still make costumes to enlarge my resume, commission work can be quite difficult. Commissions are not all bad however. The benefits usually outweigh the costs and challenge cosplayers in ways that only increases their skill sets. Recently, I’d been given the opportunity to make a costume for PUBG mobile. PUBG mobile is a mobile battle royal app with over 6 million followers on Instagram. They sent me concept art and 3D stills of their new “ENIGMATIC KILLER” set, and I was able to make the costume for promotional purposes in time for the release of this special set. It was an amazing opportunity to work with such a well-known game and create such an amazing costume for them. The costume was made with LED lights, EVA foam, plumbing tubes, and some heavily modified items I found. It took me two weeks to finish the costume. I was only given two weeks and it took me from the minute the deal was made until the final day before the images were due. It was quite hectic and stressful but I believe the costume turned out great and was well worth all the effort. Below are a couple photos of the completed costume. I’m really happy with the way it came out. let me know what you think of this Costume.
