Planning Next Projects

Blog: 3/17/20

Pensacon is over and this is the time to prepare for the next conventions of this year. The issue i’m currently dealing with however, is how the upcoming conventions will be affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. Many conventions are being cancelled and this is affecting my plans for trips and costumes to build. I think while the fear of the virus is still high, i’m going to plan out my next few costumes very in depth, so when I do start working on them, ill know the proper timing and what costume I should make for each convention. At least, the conventions that don’t get cancelled. I have 4 costumes i’m currently set on making for this next year. 3 of which aren’t in any particular order, but 1 will be my “big project” for next years Pensacon. The first costume is a Original Sith character from Star Wars, a quick sketch is attached below, his name is Darth Vogel and I want to have a very edgy and almost pretty-boy charm to him. I really want to boost my sewing skills and I feel like a costume like this will really test me in that regard. Another costume designed to help my sewing skills will be The Sparrow MK0 suit. Although earlier I stated I wouldn’t be making any more sparrow suits for the time being, I think a suit like this would be fun and challenging enough to get some good practice in. Its more comic book based and will look very heroic. A sketch of this costume is also attached below. Third is a creative Star Wars costume, combining ship with pilot. This is a very creative idea a cosplay friend of mine came up with and I think it would be an amazing sight to see, I have attached a concept of that design down below as well. Lastly, my big project for next year will be my first build of a Sparrow villain, his name is ‘Volt” and he will be one of my most challenging builds yet. He is big and bulky and will have some very interesting light work through out the armor. Im really excited to make this as I have always loved this design I had in my head, and now that I’ve draw him out (attached below) i’m more excited than ever to get started on this beast.
